Auckland harness racing venue Alexandra Park gets to see some quality racehorses on Thursday night (Aug. 31).
Jethro Bodine (Sweet Lou) will be shooting for four straight wins while Stonewall Stud have Alta Wiseguy (Mach Three) returning in the main pace of the night and Akatea (Art Major) lines up against some quality two year old fillies.
Added to the mix Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan have some quality young stock ready to enhance their careers.
In Race Two Always B Elite (Always B Miki) resumes. He ran third in the Young Guns Cardigan Bay Stakes in March before having a break. Heās had a couple of workouts, winning his last one at Pukekohe. The two year old draws nicely at barrier three.
Three year old Benson Dude (Art Major) also gets a nice barrier (1) to play with in Race Three. The gelding has raced well over the winter, winning at the end of last month.
In the Dunstan Horsefeeds Sires Stakes Two Year Old Fillies heat the Purdon/Phelan barn has three quality fillies resuming ā Supertramp (Vincent), Ultimate Racey Girl (Ultimate Machete) and Kiss (Always B Miki).
Supertramp gets the best draw (1) of the trio. She ran fourth in the Group Two Delightful Lady Classic in March before spelling. Sheās had two workout preparations for her return.
Ultimate Racy Girl was run down late in the Delightful Lady Classic, finishing third. Sheās had two workouts this time in and also gets a nice draw (2) to work from.
Kiss gets a wide draw and is sandwiched between the two likely favourites Akatea and Treacherous Love (Captaintreacherous). Scott Phelan labelled Kiss as the stables best bet.
