The Riverton Trotting Club has a great day planned for patrons at its annual Cup Day at Ascot Park Raceway in Invercargill on Sunday 12 February.
Feature harness racing races include The Neville Cleaver Fishing Aparima Trot and the Bill Keast Memorial Trot.
A heat of the Macca Lodge/Nevele R Southern Oaks will also be run.
While the racing will be top notch there will be plenty to entertain patrons at the meeting.
A $250 Prezzy Card will be up for grabs in a very simple Heads/Tails competition while one lucky person will win a day as an āOwnerā of a horse in the Cup.
The Owner will be hosted by the club for the day, meet the trainer, owner and driver of their horse and will receive photo opportunities with their horse, view the race from the birdcage, get a photo as a winning owner should the horse win and also have a ride in the E H Ball ITM Mobile.
They will also receive a $100 betting voucher plus an ILT voucher to enjoy at dayās end.
There will also be a quiz to identify drivers in the āWhoās The Cat Under The Hatā Competition while there will be a Punt For Team Teal competition too.
There will be losing ticket draws for EH Ball ITM Mobile Barrier rides while for the kids the very popular Tree Of Treats Competition returns with some great prizes.
The Robin Dundee Club will be on-course fundraising for Team Teal 2023.
Theyāre auctioning an exclusive range of scarves and snoods from wool and fibre that has been spun, dyed, and knitted or crocheted locally and donated to the Team Teal Appeal by Art Bloxham.
They contain a mix of combed merino wool, alpaca fibre and pure silk. There are 8 scarves and 2 snoods to auction.
The Club will have the scarves and snoods available at the Riverton Meeting on Sunday and they will be on display at the foot of the stairs to the members lounge.
The Riverton Trotting Club is also supporting Team Teal donating $100 for every win by a Team Teal Driver.
On-course patrons can also help this great cause. The club have betting vouchers up for grabs for every race where you can place a bet on behalf of Team Teal. The winnings from each bet (and we hope there are) will be split 50/50 between the lucky on-course patron and Team Teal.
The meeting is timed to start at 12noon and admission is free!
