Harness racing trainers Graeme Rogerson and Dylan Ferguson have five runners starting at their local meeting Cambridge, on Thursday night.
First starter Bigger The Better (Bettorās Delight) which is trained by Dylanās partner Jo Stevens at the Rogerson/Ferguson barn starts the night off in Race Two.
The two year old is out of the eight win Badlands Hanover mare Big Lucy.
āHeās probably our best chance,ā Ferguson said.
In Race Six, fourteen start Sweet Lou gelding Robin Hood draws the outside of the second row.
āItās probably a drop back in grade for him. Itās a bit of a tricky draw but Iād probably much rather draw there than out wide. Hopefully he can track through and get a handy position with cover. Heās always honest but lacks that yard of brilliance that only the good ones have. If he gets a bit of luck, he wonāt be too far away.ā
The barn has two starters in Race Seven ā Iāllavabubbles (Always B Miki) and Super Duper Dude (Sir Lincoln).
Iāllavabubbles has won all of her races (four) at Cambridge and gets a nice draw at three.
āSheās been going through the motions a little bit at the moment. Sheās training well at home but racing a bit dour. Sheās drawn on the wrong side of Sparkie (Auckland Reactor) which stops her from leading. Weāve put the blinds on and the master (Fergusonās father Peter) is on him, so he might he able to stoke her up and see if sheās got a bit of fire in her belly.ā
Super Duper Dude hasnāt raced since February 2021.
āHeās shown a bit early on but hasnāt race for a while so youāre going to have to take him on trust. Heās trained up well, his trials have been a bit in and out, but he did go a lot better on Friday at Pukekohe hitting the line quite well. Heās just getting back to match fitness and I donāt think heās quite there for Thursday night. If it turns into an out and out staying test it might question his fitness but if he got a good trip heās not a bad horse on his day.ā
In Race Eight Luka Donic (Always B Miki) draws one.
āItās probably a stronger field than what heās raced in the last couple of starts. Heās come up with a good draw, I think heās a better horse when heās on the marker pegs and thatās going to aid his chances a lot. He hasnāt shown a lot of gate speed in the past, but heāll be getting stoked up to hold a prominent position.ā
Racing at Cambridge gets underway at 5.50pm and can be viewed on Trackside One.
