Harness racing breeding group Southern Bred Southern Reared and southern owned horses experienced a golden couple of days (Friday and Saturday) this week in Australia.

South Coast Arden (Somebeachsomewhere) and half-sister Platinum Stride (Captaintreacherous) both won; South Coast Arden at Menangle and Platinum Stride at Melton. Since heading to Australia South Coast Arden has won five of his seven starts for Paul Fitzpatrick. Platinum Strides has now won eleven races. Both were bred by John and Judy Stiven of Arden Lodge.

Another Arden Lodge product Stellar Arden (Bettor’s Delight) also won at Menangle. Since heading to Australia in June she’s started four times for new trainer Jack Trainor, winning three and running second in her other start. Her winning time at Menangle of 1-52.7 was a new lifetime winning mile mark.

One Majic Kenny (Majestic Son) co-bred by Phil Williamson also won at Menangle, his fifth win in Australia. He’s won a further six races in New Zealand for Robert Dunn.

One Over All (Angus Hall) bred by Lex Williams won at Melton. It was the gelding’s fifth win this season and his fifteenth career win as he closes in on $200,000 stakes earnings.

The Shard Farm bred Himself (Sportswriter) won his fourteenth race at Gloucester Park in WA on Friday while on the same card You’re So Fine (Always B Miki) continued on his winning way. Bought and developed by Brett Gray and part owned by the MCC syndicate, You’re So Fine is now unbeaten in six starts as a four year old. He’s been touted as a West Australia Pacing Cup chance.

Rounding the two days out was Justalittlesip (Franco Ledger) developed in the south by Peter Hunter which won his eleventh race. Ten of those have been achieved since landing in Australia.
