Second line draws for Akuta and Swayzee in 120th NZ Cup

The field is set for the 120th edition of the IRT New Zealand Trotting Cup with the live barrier draw conducted at Addington Raceway this morning.

Connections of the runners were present and called to select their barrier randomly, with always some big winners and others having their task made that much more difficult with second line barrier draws.

That includes the pair of favourites with both Akuta and the Australian visitor Swayzee drawing awkwardly on the second row, while the Dalgety pair of Krug and Republican Party have drawn alongside each other on the front line with barriers 4 & 5 respectively.

Pembrook Playboy and Kango look set to take advantage of their early tactical speed from the front line also, where as BD Joe, who goes around in this afternoons Cup Trials at Addington will start from the second row in the Cup for the second year running after drawing barrier 12.
