Canterbury harness racing owner breeder Simon Pulley is getting plenty of screen time.
He maybe has to put reminders in his phone so he can catch horses racing that he currently owns, has previously owned or owns the broodmares of.
Theresa Love (Terror To Love) which he owned and won two races with before she was exported to Australia, is doing a good job there and recently paced a mile in 1-52.7 at Menangle.

Simon bought Theresa Love when visiting Wai Eyre Farm.
Simon said to this interviewer in a previous story, “She wouldn’t leave me alone. She came all the way to the gate saying, ‘pick me – can you do something with me?’ People don’t believe that, but horses are clever.”
Finally, Simon relented. “I’d sold a few chickens, some honey and other bits and pieces so I had $700 in my truck. I said to Daryl (Brown), I’ll give you $700 for that horse. The deal was done out the window of the truck.”

Pulley owns Bee Buzz Apiaries. He has over 7,000 acres of high country manuka land and 2,000 hives. He enjoys using some of his hard earned cash on his passion for racehorses.
On that front he owns On Top Of The World (Art Major) which qualified at Ashburton in May for Regan Todd, but is yet to start. He also has a share in Light Me Up (Bettor’s Delight) which is with Gavin Smith.
Over the last few years, he’s bought a number of mares. They include Shimma, Kelly Maguire, Speights Girl, Real Wings, Arden’s Rockstar, Evelyn Ashford, Hot Off the Press and Jean Genie. And they’re leaving a few winners on the track.
Evelyn Ashford is the dam of speedy filly Tokyo Rose (Captaintreacherous) which has won for Mark Jones. Real Wings has a two year old Lazarus gelding named Bad Habits (in work with Regan Todd), a Captaintreacherous filly owned by JC International and a weanling Lazarus colt.

Hot Off The Press has left three foals of racing age; Stubing (Captaintreacherous) has won once from six starts for Trent Yesberg, Madam Publisher (Rock N Roll Heaven) has won two of her three starts in Australia. The mare’s next foal It’s Electrifying (Captaintreacherous) was bought by Dean Shannon for $65,000 at this years NZB Standardbred Christchurch sale and her next foal is a colt by Downbytheseaside.
Kelly Maguire is the dam of the very promising Miraculous (Bettor’s Delight) which has won two from two for Nathan Williamson. He has a high opinion of him.
Pulley who likes to name his horses with plenty of punch, has two further foals out of Kelly Maguire – Shewonmeover (Always B Miki) and Bust It Out (Ultimate Sniper).
Speights Girl also has an exciting two year old on the track in Dawson (Sweet Lou). Otago trainer Graeme Anderson purchased him at the NZB Standardbred Auckland sale for $35,000. In the Timaru Nursery Stakes at his first and only start he ran second, beaten by a neck by Major Hot.

He’s expected to race again on Invercargill Cup Day where he may face Miraculous and what a watch that’ll be.
At this years NZB Standardbred Sale in Christchurch he paid $105,000 for a Bettor’s Delight filly out of Larissa Rose, the dam of Jacks Legend and Joanne’s A Delight.
With racehorses spread across two countries in different time zones and a good supply of young stock, Simon Pulley certainly has plenty to be buzzing about.
