Pembrook Playboy (Bettor’s Delight) has come through his third placing in the Hannon Memorial last Sunday well, and the next week will be pivotal as to where he goes next.
“It was an okay run and perhaps I didn’t have him as ready as I thought I did. Whether he goes to the Canterbury Classic or not (this Friday) depends on his next couple of training sessions,” said harness racing trainer Nathan Williamson.
Williamson says Sand Wave (Somebeachsomewhere) is also likely to head to Canterbury to run in the Lazarus Stakes.
“He’s got quite big. I was going to trial him, but it didn’t fit in with his work routine. We’ll give him some good training at home to keep him up to the mark. He’ll go to the Lazarus before he goes to the Sophomore at Ashburton. He’ll require a run or two.”

Ascot Park trainer Murray Brown says Alabar Southern Supremacy Stakes runner up With A Bang (A Rocknroll Dance) isn’t far away from resuming.
“He got a stone bruise which held things up,” Brown said.
He said he could be ready for the Northern Southland Meeting at Invercargill on October 7th.

Ruapunga Lad (Raging Bull) has had a potential buyer looking to buy him. www.southernharness.co.nz understands the buyer who was at Macca Lodge during the week, may want to see the horse run again before deciding on a sale.
Trainer Brent McIntyre has talked about running the three year old at the Northern Southland meeting next month where both he and owner Neil Timms are on the committee.
If he’s not sold, a long term aim could be the South of the Waitaki at Addington which McIntyre (Macca Lodge) sponsors.

Trainer Craig Ferguson is looking at starting the gelding at Addington within the next month.
He holds a nomination for the Dominion Handicap at Cup Week.
Meanwhile Ferguson says his two year Da Vinci (Art Major) was ‘just jogging’ when he was checked and broke in Friday nights Sires Stakes heat at Addington.
Da Vinci has been left in Canterbury at Regan Todd’s Yaldhurst barn.
