Brilliant, young sire Southwind Frank led in the quinella pair, Whiskey Blu and Capstone, in a $73,853 division of the Pennsylvania Sires Stake at The Meadows on Friday (July 23).
Whiskey Blue led for the final three quarters, clocking 1:54.2 for the mile.
The gelding has won 12 of his 17 starts for $175,003 in stakes.
He is being fitted for the $250,000 Championship at Pocono Downs in early September.
Southwind Frank has vaulted into sixth position on the three-year-old sire list with only 49 live foals.
Zarem, a five-year-old by Wishing Stone and one of his first crop, outfinished his rivals in a heat of the Winter Trotters Cup at Kilmore on Saturday night (July 24). The gelding has now won eight races and $94,390.
Wishing Stone has sired eight winners from 10 Australian-bred starters from 19 foals of racing age.
Meanwhile, Dance Craze, the champion daughter of Muscle Hill, was named the Aged Trotting Mare for Victoria in 2020.
She won six races and $164,600 including the Group 1 $100,000 Australian Trotting Grand Prix, Group 2 E. B. Cochran Cup, Group 3 Chris Howe Cup, Group 3 Freestone Cup and the Group 3 La Coocaracha.
