Katys Shadow (Captain Crunch – Katy Perry) An exciting prospect given her breeding. Katys Shadow looks to continue her way towards the racetrack after finishing 4thĀ at Ashburton trials last week. Ā Dam Katy Perry was a fantastic performer, claiming the Breeders Crown 2YO Fillies Final at Melton in 2014 alongside a victory in the NZ Yearling Sales 2YO Fillies Final in the same year when defeating Fight For Glory and Bettor Be Surpreme. Sacetas (Bettorās Delight – Scorcha) Trained by Tom Bagrie this 2yr-old is certainly one to watch in times to come. A confident workout winner on the 21st, Sacetas is the first foal out of 4-time winner in Scorcha, while grandam Sparks Under Fire has proven herself time and time again as a broodmare leaving Fuoco (11 wins) Our El Fuego (9 wins) Burning (26 wins) Fire One (8 wins) and Major Fire (10 wins)..and thatās only a few of her offspring! Itās a great breed – now itās up to Secetas to continue the winning habit.

Sweet Mama (Sweet Lou – Pistol Packing Mama) Going around in a learners pace towards the end of the program, this Robert Anderson trained 3yr-old filly is out of one of the great maternal lines in the catalogue. Dam Pistol Packing Mama, herself a race winner, has already left Better Pack A Pistol (8 wins) Bite The Bullet (10 wins) and Rocknroll Mama (12 wins).Ā A quick look back through the generations of this family and youāll come across the great broodmare in Black Watch. Itās a family thatās had a major impact on the yearling sales and racing history over the past decades. Can Sweet Mama prove herself worthy of her family name? Weāll see soon enough.
