Speedy harness racing mare Darling Me relished the drop in class tonight when she took out the feature pace at Addington Raceway for trainers Steve and Amanda Telfer.
Fresh from racing the countries top mares in the last few weeks, Darling Me (Sweet Lou) raced in the R61 to R80 pacers tonight and was taken straight to the front by driver Tim Williams. After getting her own way in front the daughter of champion mare Adore Me never gave the rest of the field a look in, winning easily by four lengths without being pushed.
“She has been racing the best of the best, so it was nice to get back in a competitive grade and get her confidence back up,” Williams said after the race.
Later in the night Phoebe Onyx went back to back winning the Addington feature trot for the second week in a row for trainer/driver Bob Butt.
Phoebe Onyx (Wishing Stone) came off the back mark of 35m and led for the last lap beating Cochy Malc and Blair Orange.
