Victoria Cup champ Rock N Roll Doo (Rock N Roll Heaven) finished sixth in his New Zealand debut on Monday (Oct. 25) when he was beaten just under 6m by B D Joe in harness racing’s Group 2 Ashburton Flying Stakes.
The star four-year-old galloped away from the standing start before trainer-driver Michael Stanley sent him forward to the death seat for the final lap of the 2400m event.
He was beaten entering the straight, but boxed on strongly to finish close-up behind the place-getters.
Greg OāConnor chatted to Stanley shortly after the race and you can watch the interview – courtesy of Harness Racing NZ –Ā below.
