Brother and sister harness racing training partnership of Steve and Amanda Telfer have a strong part to play on Cup Day at Addington on Tuesday, particularly in the Nevele R ’50 Years Of Success’ Final.
The $140,000 Group One feature has a field stacked full of talent and the Telfers best chance Aardiebytheseaside (Downbytheseaside) has drawn to be a major player. Steve says the team is happy with the draw.
Sweet Diamond (Sweet Lou) and Kahlua Flybye (Bettor’s Delight) are also strong candidates for the Telfers in the Fillies Final.
Sweet Diamond gets a favourable draw at two and will be handled by Jonny Cox.
Kahlua Flybye will start from the inside of the second row and Tony Herlihy takes the reins.
In the $750,000 IRT New Zealand Trotting Cup BD Joe (Roll With Joe) has once again been unlucky with the Cup draw. This noted good beginner has to be content with a second line draw at twelve.
Telfer is hopeful BD Joe can get a clear run through from the second row.
The run in the Cup will be BD Joe’s first start since late September.
Of the Stonewall team racing on Cup Day Steve labels Elizabeth Hill (What The Hill) as the stables best bet.
