The four recent yearlings purchased at the NZB Standardbred Sales in Christchurch by Entain for the TAB Club have been matched with harness racing trainers.
The Always B Miki ā Idancedwithcullen coltĀ (Lot 192) a full brother to Franco Indie, will be sent to the Diamond Racing stable of Robert and Jenna Dunn at Woodend Beach.
The Captain Crunch ā One Dream coltĀ (Lot 246) will head to Kentuckiana Stables and will be trained by Cran and Chrissie Dalgety.
Sales topper No More Dreaming (Lot 301) is to be trained by Barry Purdon and Scott Phelan from their Clevedon base.
The colt by Art Major out of Triple Sec (Lot 325) will head south to Branxholme (Southland) trainer Nathan Williamson.
TAB Club customers will be able to subscribe to horses that were purchased by the club and theyāll receive all the communications from the trainer.
The club will also send the customers out to the track when those horses are racing, with the idea of exposing a lot more people to the ownership experience.
This quasi ownership experience will be at no cost to club members and thereāll be additional activity around the Racing Clubs where an owner for the day will get a share of the horseās prize money.
Ryan Stanaway from Entain says the purchase of these four yearlings is just a starting point and they hope to ultimately have runners in most New Zealand regions and major training and racing centres.
He added that Entain is working closely with trainers throughout New Zealand and will be exploring other options for the TAB Racing Club including tried horses.
