Steve and Amanda Telfer have two very good chances at the Winton harness racing meeting on Saturday (Sep. 24), but both have drawn wide.

The premiership leaders will bring Ideal Prince (American Ideal) and Cloudy Bay (Bettor’s Delight) south and both will be driven by the stable’s junior driver Ellie Barron.
Ideal Prince which is coming back from a spell, has been fitted for his 2400 metre mobile assignment with two trials at Rangiora – winning the last one.
“Ellie drove him in the last trial, and she was really pleased with him. He got to the line good and pulled up great. He’s a very adaptable horse. He can do a little bit of work in his runs, he’s got speed and can stay a bit too. He’ll need to use those attributes from the draw” (outside front row), Telfer said.
Cloudy Bay is also returning from a break and she’s also drawn the outside of the front in a small field.
“She’s strengthened up in her time away. She put on weight and has been a lot stronger in her work. She too has had two trials and if she wins it’ll be penalty free. It won’t be easy as there’s a couple of nice fillies in the race and she’ll have to do some work at some stage.”
