Steve and Amanda Telfer have two very good chances at the Winton harness racing meeting on Saturday (Sep. 24), but both have drawn wide.
The premiership leaders will bring Ideal Prince (American Ideal) and Cloudy Bay (Bettorās Delight) south and both will be driven by the stableās junior driver Ellie Barron.
Ideal Prince which is coming back from a spell, has been fitted for his 2400 metre mobile assignment with two trials at Rangiora – winning the last one.
āEllie drove him in the last trial, and she was really pleased with him. He got to the line good and pulled up great. Heās a very adaptable horse. He can do a little bit of work in his runs, heās got speed and can stay a bit too. Heāll need to use those attributes from the drawā (outside front row), Telfer said.
Cloudy Bay is also returning from a break and sheās also drawn the outside of the front in a small field.
āSheās strengthened up in her time away. She put on weight and has been a lot stronger in her work. She too has had two trials and if she wins itāll be penalty free. It wonāt be easy as thereās a couple of nice fillies in the race and sheāll have to do some work at some stage.ā
