Some exciting harness racing is about to hit Addington Raceway in the next month.
The next seven race meetings include three Wednesday twilight meetings in a row starting next week and a prelude meeting on Friday 19 March before the big three Easter meetings get under way.
That prelude meeting on Friday 19 March is followed by a Premier Friday on 26 March, highlighted by the Gr2 'What The Hill' New Zealand Trotting Oaks and the Gr2 Vero Flying stakes with the winner of the Vero Flying stakes guaranteed a start in the 2021 Diamond Creek Farm New Zealand Pacing Derby to be run on the 9th April. Two group three races are also on the card that night and stakes of $280,000.
The following Saturday (Easter Saturday) on 3rd April is highlighted by the Group One $100,000 Breckon Farms / All Stars Racing Easter Cup plus a Gr3 race and Stakes of $255,000 for the card.
Lastly the Premier Friday on 9th April, is a massive night with both the Group One NZ Trotting Derby ($100,000) and the Group One Diamond Creek Farm NZ Pacing Derby ($200,000) being run along with the Group One NZ Trotting Championships ($100,000) and also two other Gr2 features and total stakes of $605,000.
Altogether over the next five weeks there will be 11 Group races run and $1.140million in stakes, plus various Sires Stakes and Nevele R heats spread throughout the meetings.
