Vicbred Pure an important consideration at Nutrien Sale

Harness racing yearlings that are the result of a mating with an Australian or New Zealand bred stallion, physically standing in Victoria, with the resultant foal being born in Victoria qualify for a $12,000 Bonus for the horse’s first win as a 2yo, 3yo or 4yo.

Llowalong Farms are great supporters of colonial bred stallions and are presenting a number at the Nutrien Melbourne sale.

Australian 3yo Colt/Gelding Pacer of the Year Poster Boy stands at Llowalong Farms and on March 23rd he sired his third 2yo winner from his debut crop to the races.

The Highlight Reel was making his racetrack debut in the $20,000 Vic Shakamaker 2yo Classic at Melton and he led throughout to win comfortably for trainer Clayton Tonkin and driver Mark Pitt and rated 1:56.0 for the 1720 metres.

Llowalong Farms in conjunction with Highfield Farm Pty Ltd will off a Poster Boy filly out of the Artsplace mare Soho Champagne as Lot 336.

Soho Champagne has already produced four winners including the Group Two 2yo Edgar Tatlow Stakes winner Soho Angel which is a winner of ten races and $168,430.

Poster Boy’s first 2yo winner was the Western Australian filly Delulu which won at Pinjarra on February 12th rating 1:58.3 over the 1684 metres for Western Australia’s leading trainers Greg and Skye Bond.

Lot 351 is the second Poster Boy filly in the draft being prepared by Llowalong Farms and she is out of the unraced Bettors Delight mare Trojan Fire.

This makes her a half-sister to five winners including the Group Three 2yo winner Concealment whose 14 wins have earned him $106,257.

Another colonial Llowalong based stallion with multiple entries in the sale is the millionaire son of American Ideal in Soho Tribeca.

Lot 191, being offered by Ashley Greeves and Renee Keaveny is by Soho Tribeca out of the winning Somebeachsomewhere mare Beach Box who has already produced a 2yo winner in Harrys A Rockstar.

Beach Box is a half-sister to seven winners including the 2yo Tasmanian Sweepstakes winner Majestic Emperor who has 18 wins and $186,378 in earnings.

Llowalong Farms are also preparing their own Soho Tribeca yearling in Lot 259 which is the first foal from the winning Mach Three mare Lady Rosalita.

Lady Rosalita is a full-sister to 2yo Australian Pacing Gold winner Rosa Mach who won 12 races and $239,588.

This filly is also being offered up with all proceeds of the sale to go to The Pancare Foundation. The Pancare Foundation performs research and assists those suffering from upper gastrointestinal cancer including liver, stomach, oesophageal and pancreatic cancer, something that is close to Dr. McIntosh’s heart. All these cancers are insidious in onset and early detection would greatly assist in prevention and treatment.

This dynamic filly is eligible for a Bonus $12,000 on top of her first win so a great return on investment certain for the lucky buyer.

Speed machine Lather Up, whose first Australasian foals have just commenced racing as 2yos, has one filly in the sale in Lot 186 on account of J E & W E Loader.

Lot 186 is out of Artistic Pleasure which is a lightly raced full sister to Australian 3yo Colt/Gelding Pacer of the Year Vincent.

Artistic Pleasure is now a winner-producer after the Always B Miki 4yo Mikis Pleasure won at Cobram earlier this month.

The Loaders will also offer Lot 264 which is a colt by Downbytheseaside from the lightly raced Christian Cullen mare Lislady.

This colt is a half-brother to four winners and a full-brother to Wavewatcher which won at Forbury Park in New Zealand in January rating 1:59.2 over 2000 metres.

Llowalong are also preparing a second Downbytheseaside colt in Lot 339 which is the first foal from the Art Major mare Swinginwithsierra.

On account of Greg Gangle this colts dam is an unraced half-sister to four $100,000 earners headed by the Group Two Edgar Tatlow Stakes winner Tangoingwithsierra which recently won her 15th race and took her earnings past $279,000.

This filly is a half-sister to four winners including O B Legal which has won 15 races and $119,167 and the Group One placed 2yo Angel Bromac which is now the dam of last seasons NSW Oaks runner-up Soho Seraphine which has won eight times and earned in excess of $201,000.
