Wai Eyre Farm is very excited to announce that the renewed confidence in the future of Harness Racing in NZ has helped give us direction for the future of the farm.

Since Mike’s passing a year ago, we have had many thoughts on the future of Wai Eyre Farm.

The decision has been made to stay in the breeding industry with our focus on our clients, and your horse’s welfare to give you the best opportunity to achieve your breeding and racing goals and dreams.

Wai Eyre Farm has been in the industry breeding standardbreds for over 30 years, and we have a renewed vision to be at the forefront of the industry going forward.

Stud Manager

Anna Murphy has just joined our team and has been appointed Stud Manager.

Anna worked for us 16 years ago and it is great to have her back on board. Anna has a wealth of knowledge in the industry.

Nicole Thomas has been our stud manager for the last 7 years and has given her all to the stud over this time. Nicole will continue to be a vital part of our operation with her focus this season being the foaling unit.

Nicole is looking forward to working closer, and more hands-on with the mares and newborn foals, this being an area of the stud which has always been a real passion of hers. Nicole has welcomed the opportunity to have Anna join the team, allowing Nicole to have more time to follow her own personal goals, and to achieve a better work life balance.

Price Decrease

Part of our growth strategy has been to assess our pricing structure, and we have made the big and very bold decision to reduce our pricing for our weaning, foaling, breeding and working fees to encourage more breeding of standardbred mares and ultimately to help you the breeder, reduce your cost.

Coupled with our prompt payment discount structure, ranging from 10% to 20% depending on the number of mares you have with us, we believe that breeders will be able to save substantially on their costs this season by breeding at Wai Eyre Farm.

We have some further developments planned at Wai Eyre Farm, including potential new stallions, and we are also working on some exciting plans which could revolutionize the way service fees, vet packages and working fees are charged in the industry.
