Mach Three broodmare Wat A Woman has achieved a rare feat not many harness racing mares have done.
The Studholme Bloodstock owned 12-year-old had her first four foals all win this week, including three winners in one day in two different countries.
Owner Brian West had a smile from ear to ear.
āThatās an amazing feat,ā said West.
āI purchased her because of her great pedigree and being a Mach Three mare.ā
Success started for the New Zealand mare when her oldest foal Yuko (Bettorās Delight) won at Newcastle, Australia, last Friday (Oct.21).
At the same venue on Monday (Oct. 24) Wat A Woman had her next winner when her Sweet Lou colt Wat A Feeling won on debut in a mile rate of 1:59.5.
WAT A FEELING REPLAY
That same day across in New Zealand, Bettorās Delight mare Manhattan won at Ashburton giving Wat A Woman her next winner.
A race later her filly by A Rocknroll Dance named No Matter Wat completed the winning steak.
āAfter yesterdayās meeting I will most likely breed Wat A Woman back in foal to Bettorās Delight,ā West said on Tuesday.
āShe is currently in foal to Art Major.
āWe breed all the horses on our private farm and we have close to 40 mares and fillies.
āThis year we will breed 25 mares.ā
MANHATTAN REPLAY
There has been some top of the line horses bred on Westās property including the likes of Lazarus and A Bit Of A Legend to name a couple.
āOur very first successful horse was Defoe,ā said West.
āWe also bred Secret Potion who won a couple of Group 1s here as a three-year-old.ā
