It was only ever a matter of time before exciting trotting sire, What The Hill started to make a huge impact on the Australasian harness racing scene and that time has come. His New Zealand results over last two weeks have been an indication of this, with eight winners across the last nine meetings in the country.Ā
After taking the title as the leading sire of 3-year-old trotters in 2023, he is now the clear leading sire of 4-year-old trotters in New Zealand after plenty of strong performers.Ā
Headlined recently by his 4-year-old son BET N WIN (Pegasus Spur dam), who won his third feature race in a row and second Listed race in a fortnight two weeks ago at Addington Raceway when winning the $40,000 NZB Standardbred Uncut Gems.Ā
However, it is not just his older stock that are making an impact, he is also currently the leading 2-year-old trotting sire in New Zealand after very encouraging wins from two of his fillies, QUEEN KIZEN (Monarchy dam) and YA RITE DARL (Dream Vacation dam).Ā
Queen Kizen has had two starts for two wins to date and Ya Rite Darl was impressive winning at her second start. Both are engaged to race in the Group 3 Trotting Stakes at Addington on Friday night.
His full list of New Zealand winners across the last two weeks are:
