Oamaru trainer Matty Williamson and driver Kerryn Tomlinson chalked up a double at the Invercargill Harness Racing Club meeting at Ascot Park today.
Wins by both Majesdix (Majestic Son) and Terra Sancta (Sportswriter) were achieved through front running tactics adopted by Tomlinson and both wins were penalty free thanks to Tomlinson’s junior driver claim.

“I’ve only driven one of the team today and it got beat and Kerryn got the other two home. She was saying that she’d love to be a half points junior again to get a few more drives but they’ve both won their free bees so Kerryn will be without these two for a while,” Williamson said.
Tomlinson was able to get some cheap sectionals driving Majesdix and sprinted at the end of her race to win by two and a half lengths from The River Boy which sat parked for some of the race.
MAJESDIX REPLAY
Williamson thought the Majesdix was well placed in today’s trot.
“She was unlucky in the Darren De Filippi and her race before that. She was racing the likes of Del’s Creation, so it was a far drop back today.”
The win was the four year old mare’s sixth and Williamson says Majesdix will race next at the Kurow meeting.
“Charlotte (wife) may don the whites (racing colours) there being a half points junior and Terra Sancta will probably be freshened up for the Cup meeting.”
Terra Sancta provided her large ownership group with plenty to cheer about when winning Race Six.

“She put away a good field today, so I was over the moon with her. “
TERRA SANCTA REPLAY
The four year old mare is raced by three individuals and four syndicates.
“That’s the most people I’ve seen with this horse today. They kept coming from everywhere. That’s great because they’re getting right behind her. She’s doing them all proud and is a lovely horse.”

Central Otago breeder Rusty Nevill bred both Majesdix and Terra Sancta and still has shares in both horses.
Meanwhile Rakadeaks (Sunshine Beach) provided Winton trainers Richard and Fiona Stevens with their first winner after a half-length victory in the first race.
RAKADEAKS REPLAY
The couple are in their second season of training and today was the horse’s second start for the Steven’s stable after he’d had five unplaced runs for Clark Barron.
