Mr Cash Man (Shadow Play) was on his game today (Jun. 15), taking out the last race at the Ascot Park harness racing meeting in Invercargill.
“He’s a funny horse. There’s a real fine line between being on or off. If you’ve got him on he’s good. But if he’s five percent off he can run poor races. But th

at being said he’s had trouble with his breathing and has had a couple of wind operations. You can sort of tell when he’s on when he warms up and the way he’s travelling in a race,” trainer driver Nathan Williamson said.
In today’s R47-R65 race Williamson slotted the six year old into the one one as Bowlem Over led early, before second favourite Southside Of Heaven took over with a lap to run. Brookies Player came knocking and put pressure on the leader who was racing greenly.
After getting the perfect cart into the finish Mr Cash Man let down best to beat a brave Brookies Player by a length and a quarter, with favourite Beach Day finishing well for third.
MR CASHMAN REPLAY
The win was Mr Cash Man’s eighth and Williamson says he’ll start in the Winter Rewards at the Winton meeting in two weeks time.
“Perhaps after his next start we may look to move him on. He’d do a good job in Australia”.

Today’s win took him to more than $70,000 in stake money.
