Woodlands Stud’s five shuttle stallions have arrived on farm ahead of the upcoming harness racing breeding season in Australasia. Bettor’s Delight, Sweet Lou, Downbytheseaside, What The Hill and Lather Up all arrived in immaculate condition.
This was an extra special delivery for the stud, with it being champion sire Bettor’s Delight’s final journey as he will now call Woodlands Stud home for life. After 19 years and 37 flights he has handed in his frequent flyer card with IRT and gets to remain in the mild Auckland climates. The 26-year-old arrived in great order and doesn’t look close to his age.
It was also the first time that our youngest sire, Lather Up has joined us in New Zealand after being based at Llowalong Farms in Victoria for his first four seasons. He is a true gentleman and settled into the new environment superbly well.
Sweet Lou, Downbytheseaside and What The Hill were all also delivered and are set to have another big season in the shed, with their progeny all doing great things on the track. The five sires were welcomed by our resident trotting champion Speeding Spur, who remains at his birthplace and is fantastic value for breeders.
The breeding season is set to commence within New Zealand from next week and internationally to Australia from September 9th.
