Proven international breeding operation Yabby Dam Farms is again offering a world class consignment of harness racing trotting lots at the Nutrien Equine Yearling Sale at Melbourne’s Oaklands Junction on Sunday, April 14.

The 25-strong line-up features the best in European, North American and Australasian bloodlines – headlined by the first Australian crop of Classic Connection Fra.

Classic Connection is a son of the great Love You and proven star on the racetrack.

Ten of his offspring from the Yabby Dam Farms nursery at Cardigan near Ballarat in Victoria will go under the hammer.

A colt by Love You is also being offered – an opportunity which will become reduced in the years to come after it announced late last year that the French-based champion stallion has been retired from stud duties.

There are also two youngsters by French champion Bold Eagle – a son of super sire Ready Cash.

This is the first time Yabby Dam Farm has put progeny of Bold Eagle through the sale ring.

Australian-bred group 1-winning son of Ready Cash, Always Ready, also has a lot as does the French-based Eridan, which is also a son of Ready Cash.

The Eridan filly is his first Australian-bred foal.

The Yabby Dam Farm consignment features foals out of French, US, Canadian, Italian, New Zealand and Australian-bred mares.

Yabby Dam Farms have invested strongly in the Melbourne Nutrien Equine Yearling Sale since its inception in 2021 – making the commitment to sell exclusively through this sale each year.

Multiple group 1 winner The Locomotive (Muscle Mass US-La Coocaracha) was among the yearlings sold through the inaugural sale.

Yabby Dam Farms will be again offering the Travel Rebate to New Zealand buyers. Any Yabby Dam Farms yearling purchased at the 2024 Nutrien Equine Yearling Sale Melbourne will receive a travel rebate when the yearling is exported to New Zealand within 60 days following the sale.

The export rebate will be A$500 per A$10,000 spend or part thereof, to a maximum of A$5,000 payable on receipt of a paid travel invoice.
