The VDM committee is delighted to announce the return of guest harness racing driver, Anthony Butt, for the 2022 Vincent Delaney Memorial weekend.

Driver Anthony Butt

Anthony Butt began his career as one of the top drivers in New Zealand, before staking his claim in major races in Australia.  He has won around $40 million in prize money in a career that boasts over 2,500 wins, including around 130 Group 1 wins.   These wins comprise of four Interdominion Finals, a record seven wins in the Hunter Cup, Victoria’s biggest race and eight wins in the Dominion Handicap.  Anthony is a member of the Inter Dominion Hall of Fame and recently was recognized with the Caduceus Club of Victoria’s Living Legend award.

“I am excited to be coming back for the VDM again after coming over in 2014. I had such a great time that I have always been looking to get back at some stage,” said Anthony Butt, “It will be great to see how the VDM has evolved and grown since last time I was there and especially looking forward to the racing at Tir Prince.”

The Vincent Delaney Memorial will be held on August 13-14th, 2022 at Tir Prince Raceway.  Further information can be found on our website, https://vincentdelaneymemorial.com/ or on the VDM Facebook page.
