Itinerary set for Vincent Delaney Memorial Weekend

The Vincent Delaney Memorial Committee is pleased to release the preliminary itinerary for the harness racing weekend of Aug. 9 thru Aug. 14, 2022.

In the past, the VDM Committee and Oakwood Stud have graciously hosted tours for the foreign visitors to show them more of the country on their trip.  Past tours have included trips to the Guinness Factory, Malahide Castle, Whiskey Distilleries, and dinner with traditional Irish dancing.  Transportation will be provided to all activities.

The plan for this year (subject to change):

Tuesday 9^th August – Dublin, Ireland

Horse and Carriage tour of Dublin City Centre

Historical Horse Market in Smithfield

Visit to a Traditional Irish Pub

Hotel: Ashling Hotel

Wednesday 10^th August – Dublin, Ireland

Tour of the Irish National Stud

Lunch at Hartes pub and restaurant in Kildare Town

Tour of Oakwood Stud

Thursday 11^th August – Dublin to Wales

Bus/taxi to Dublin Ferry Port to catch the ferry for Holyhead, Wales

Hotel: St George’s Hotel Llandudno North Wales

Friday 12^th August – Wales

Tour of Snowdonia Mountains

Saturday 13^th August – Wales

Elimination races at Tir Prince Raceway

Sunday 14^th August  – Wales

Ladies Day and Finals Day at Tir Prince Raceway
