Northfield, OH– The Sire Stakes harness racing season is in full swing at MGM Northfield Park, with the sophomore pacers taking center stage on Saturday (July 22). The event features nine pacers lining up for one $100,000 dash for the cash.
Ron Burke conditions the morning-line favorite Wicked Character (Yankee Cruiser) from the rail. Since winning one of the opening legs at Miami Valley, he has only picked up a pair of fifth place finishes in legs two and three.
Todd Luther will send out Burnout (Racing Hill) from post two, who has yet to get to the winnerās circle in his two tries but has been knocking at the door. Ron Burke has the morning-line favorite and sends out The Real Way (Downbytheseaside) from post four. After starting the season winless from six starts, he has rattled off a pair of wins and seems to be finding his best as the year unfolds.
The $100,000 field of nine will be sent off as race 13, which features the 20-cent Super Hi-5 with a low 14% takeout and a guaranteed pool of $10,000. The stakes season heats up as MGM Northfield Park progress towards the $300,000 Carl Milstein Memorial on August 12.
