Prominent harness racing driver Jacqueline Ingrassia rocked the tote board at Harrah’s Philadelphia Thursday (Sept. 21) when she drove Green Zone (Greenshoe) to victory at odds of 101-1.
Starting from the far outside in post 8 in the 2nd race $11,700 trot for two-year-olds, Ingrassia sent Green Zone right out to the early lead as they were up by two lengths at the first quarter in :29.
Then it was the race favorite Ideal Pack and driver Jeff Gregory who came after and took the lead away from Green Zone by the half mile in :58.1 and the three-quarters in 1:28.2.
At the top of the stretch, Ideal Pack was up by two lengths over Green Zone, but Ingrassia was able to urge her filly on and she caught Ideal Pack at the wire to win by a neck in 1:58.3. Amilyn Holdo (Ridge Warren) was third.
GREEN ZONE REPLAY
The longest shot on the board at 101-1, Green Zone paid $204.00 to win. It was her maiden victory in her third lifetime start. She is trained by Frank Ingrassia and owned by Jacqueline Ingrassia and Arden Homestead Stable.
