Harrah’s Hoosier Park played host to two $50,500 harness racing divisions of the second round of the Indiana Sire Stakes for three-year-old pacing colts and gelding Friday evening June 10.
The fastest of the two ten-horse fields was the 11th race second division where JK Victory (JK Endofanera) and driver Trace Tetrick were able to take the lead away from race favorite Ponda Warrior (Jimmy Whitemore) after a :26.3 first quarter.
Once on the lead, JK Victory would not look back, cutting fractions of :54.3 and 1:22.4 and holding a two-length lead starting down the stretch.
That lead would diminish to just a half a length at the finish as JK Victory won in 1:49.3 over Ponda Warrior with RIP Wheeler (Brandon Bates) third.
JK VICTORY REPLAY
It was a lifetime mark and the second straight win in three starts for JK Victory. He is trained by Ron Burke for the 3 Brothers Stable and Caviart Farms. He paid $7.40 to win.
In the 10th race first sire stakes division, it was Soaring Now (JK Endofanera) and driver Andy Shetler enjoying a two-hole trip and then finding room in the lane for the win.
Soaring Now was the first on the lead away from the starting gate and at the first quarter in :26.1, gave way to Oneshotatthetitle (Lewayne Miller), who had left from post eight.
Oneshotatthetitle then led the field to half in :54.1 as the race favorite, Fulfullnmydestiny and driver James Yoder, came first-over, giving live cover second-over to Big Law (Sam Widger) past the three-quarters in 1:23.
Then in a wild stretch finish, Soaring Now and Shetler were able to weave their way around horses, find room in deep stretch and come on for a one-length triumph in 1:50.1. Big Law was second with Lucks On Time (Brandon Bates) third.
SOARING NOW REPLAY
It was the first win in three starts for Soaring Now. He was second in his first two starts for trainer Aaron Stutzman and owner James Miller of Dixon, KY. He paid $5.20 to win.
