The royally bred Splash Blue Chip had an easy go of things as she led from start to finish in the $114,000 New York Sire Stakes for three-year-old harness racing trotting fillies at Monticello Raceway Monday afternoon.
Starting from post five in the 7th race feature, trainer-driver Ake Svanstedt send the daughter of E L Titan right to the lead and held the field at bay by two lengths through fractions of :29.1, :58.2 and 1:27.3.
Coming down the stretch with no real challengers, Splash Blue Chip breezed to the wire in 1:57.1, winning by a half length over stablemate Illuminata (Mark MacDonald) who sat a two-hole trip with Titans Hope (Jason Bartlett) third.
