Quarrel (Always B Miki, Chris Long) took the $8,500 featured Fillies & Mares Open harness racing pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (Nov 8).
Quarrel ($2.90) went straight to the front and led the first quarter in :28.3.Ā She slowed things down with a :30.0 second quarter to be first to the half in :58.3.Ā She started to widen her lead going around the last turn and led to three-quarters in 1:26.4.
As they reached the stretch second place finisher One Surreal Deal (Leon Bailey) came first-up from third and gave everything she had but Quarrel got the jump and won in 1:56.0.Ā Unusual Clarity (Ron Harp) finished third.
Quarrel is 5-year-old mare. She is owned by Karma Racing Inc. and trained by Rob Harmon.Ā It was her fourth win this season.Ā She now owns 15 career victories.
