Jive Dancing A (Rock N Roll Heaven) and harness racing driver Austin Siegelman were able to grind it out first-over in scoring a 22-1 upset victory in the $36,000 F & M Open-Handicap Pace at Yonkers Raceway Friday (July 28).
The 8th race feature saw Man Dontforget Me (Braxton Boyd) leave and take control of the early lead from post four. Getting the two-hole trip was Karma Seelster (Jason Bartlett) as they sped to the first quarter in :27.
They raced single file to the half mile in :57 and then entering the backstretch, Jive Dancing A and Siegelman came first-over with race favorite Lit De Rose (Pat Lachance) second-over.
By the three-quarters in 1:25.2, Jive Dancing A was second on the outside as Man Dontforget Me was still strong on the lead. As they came to the top of the stretch, Jive Dancing A was beginning to wear down Man Dontforget Me.
Coming to the wire, Jive Dancing A dug in and was able to hold off Lit De Rose and Karma Seelster to win by a half a length in 1:53.2.
