27-1 longshot shocks top pace

WASHINGTON, PA, May 12, 2022 — Southwind Aussi stretched out Somemiki Hanover to the quarter, then blew by her in the lane to pull off a 27-1 shocker in Thursday’s harness racing feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $10,300 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace.

The strategy of Southwind Aussi and driver Jeremy Indof forced Somemiki Hanover to a swift 55.4 half that made her vulnerable to the late charge of Southwind Aussi, who scored in a career best 1:53. Somemiki Hanover saved place, 2 lengths back, while Bittrsweetsymphony finished third.

Alan Davadik trains the winner, a 4-year-old daughter of Betting Line-A And Gs Princess, for Mike Callipare, Lori Callipare, Mark Sosovicka and David Sosovicka.

SOUTHWIND AUSSI REPLAY

Dan Charlino, Aaron Merriman, Mike Wilder, trainer Scott Betts and Indof each enjoyed a double on the 11-race card.
