Wednesday night at Rosecroft Raceway, $300,000 in purses will be on the line for Maryland Sires Stakes harness racing pacers and trotters.
In an early non-betting event for three year old filly trotters, You’ll Never Be Me, a daughter of pacing sire Cam’s Rocket, and winner of $97,750 in eight starts scores from the rail. Russell Foster, her regular pilot, will be in the bike for Trainer Richard Hans. Her chief adversary, Charlie’s Song, scores from post three in the three horse event with Roger Plante driving for Trainer Steve Leblanc. These two split the first two preliminary legs. Lady Eleanor and John Wagner will round out the field for $75,000.
In the second non-betting event, Hoofbeats De Vie, a perfect eight for eight in MSS competition, scores from post two for Foster and Trainer Christopher Lakata. The son of Charlie De Vie, and homebred of the Joie De Vie Farm, has netted $95,040 in nine lifetime starts. Whitesville MR AW has shown the most improvement of the rivals at three, finishing second best in each preliminary leg for Trae Porter and Trainer Gary White. Tungsten Tim (Wagner) a Lockkeeper gelding and Bonjour Mary Ellen, a son of Charlie De Vie (Jim Morand) round out the four horse field.
On the betting card starting at 7:15, Three year old filly pacers get the stage in race one, as 8-5 Morning Line favorite Connies All In heads the field. In last week’s preliminary leg, the daughter of Rusty’s All In, made a big brush down the backside for Jared Moyer to take over and win in a lifetime best 1:53.4. She is 3-3 in 2022 but drew post eight and has a new rival. Baby Doll Jen, who did not race as a two year old, looked a lethargic fifth in her lifetime debut getting beat in 2:01.2. Trainer Lewis Nunes went to work and the last two weeks have been a different story, chasing Connies All In home in both MSS legs and missed by less than a length last week with closing quarters of :27.2 and :27.4. She scores from post three for Jonathan Roberts. Predict The Future, who upset Connies All In in last years two year old final, leaves from post five for Roger Plante. Maleficent K (Mark Gray), Camon Ban (Frank Milby) Grey Rocket (Foster), Janet’s For Real (Porter) Cochabamba (Brian Burton) and Lloyds Ladys (Wagner) round out the field.
CONNIES ALL IN MAY 11 REPLAY
Anthonys All In (Wagner) has been the dominant horse in the Colt and Gelding category to start 2022. The son of Rusty’s All In, the homebred of owner Pamela Wagner, has scorched the Fort Washington oval impressively in his first two starts of the year and now has $123,160 to show for his work. Last Fall, stablemate Donnys All In (Moyer) used a pocket trip to pull an upset in the $70,000 Final. After a lackluster showing in his 2022 debut, last week he looked much more professional leaving from post six and getting the lead before yielding to his barn buddy and finishing second. Rusty’s Rockin (Roberts) Daddy’s Boy (Burton), Rusty Rambo (Plante), Cool Breeze (Milby), Rapid Pulse (Foster) and Alpha Beta (Porter) complete the field for $75,000.
