CUMBERLAND, ME – Tuesday’s (Nov. 16) feature race at First Tracks Cumberland is the fourth race NW2000/NW5 conditioned $4,000 pace and it pits the popular Southwind Terror (post 2, Aaron Hall) against Rocnrolwilneverdie (post 3, Dan Deslandes) and Bet On Success (post 4, Bruce Ranger). The seven horse field is devoid of any recent winners, making this event one to watch.
First Tracks Cumberland will offer a $4,000 guaranteed Pick 4 on the Tuesday (Nov. 16) card for races seven through ten, where there is already a $1,576 carryover. The 50 cent Pick 4 boasts a low 16% takeout at the iconic Southern Maine racetrack.
Race 10, the final leg of the Pick 4 hosts eight trotters on the gate vying for a $3,500 purse, led by morning line favorite Roadshow Vic (post 5, Steve Wilson, 5-2). An able veteran, the 14-year-old gelding is in the twilight of his career, and not content on letting sun set on mediocrity. Roadshow Vic took his show on the road and boasts two victories at Cumberland, plus scores at Fryeburg and Bangor in the last six weeks. Trained and owned by Mike Cushing he will look to give the elder statesman his 58th career victory.
Second choice is Beer League (post 2, Kevin Switzer Jr, 3-1), another 14-year-old looking to go out with a bang. Third on the morning line is T Brook Billy (post 3, Bruce Ranger, 4-1), a young gun foal of 2017, who is looking for his second win of the season.
Racing continues at First Tracks Cumberland on Wednesday (Nov. 17) with the regular 11:00 am post time. Our Winter Festival extended pari-mutuel meeting continues with live harness racing several days each week through December 31, 2021.
