Dover, DE — Embrace The Grind (Keystone Activator) took no prisoners early and had plenty of breathing room late to score a 1:54.2 harness racing win in Tuesday’s (Dec. 27) $18,000 Winners Over/Select Trot at Bally’s Dover.
Harness racing driver Pat Berry raced Embrace The Grind aggressively, parking out both Manatlas and Crystal Fashion through a :27 first quarter. Embrace the Grind continued on the engine through a :56 half while his outside challengers began to tire heading to the backstretch and 6-5 favorite JL Cruze failed to mount a four-wide rally around those foes.
After reaching three-quarters uncontested in 1:25, Embrace The Grind maintained 2-1/4 lengths of clearance on pocket rival Not For Money (driven by Allan Davis). Northern Express (Russell Foster) finished third.
Bobby Glassmeyer owns, and trains Embrace The Grind, a 6-year-old gelding who paid $21.60 to win.
