A Delightful Act N repeats at MGM Northfield Park

Northfield, OH — A Delightful Act N (Bettor’s Delight) moved her winning streak to three on Sunday (Nov. 12) with a harness racing victory in the $20,000 Filly and Mare Distaff at MGM Northfield Park.

Leaving alertly from post four, A Delightful Act N (Hunter Myers) tried to get to the lead, but Blue Ivy (Greg Grismore) and Mystical Virgin (Kurt Sugg) beat her to the punch, with Blue Ivy clearing for the lead around the initial turn. Leaving A Delightful Act N parked out for most of the first quarter, eclipsed in :27.1.

Finally clearing the lead mid-way into the far turn for the first time, Myers got a bit of a breather, but pressure in the form of Adashious Hanover (Billy Davis Jr.) was coming first over at the half in :56.1.

Adashious Hanover shoved her head on top, but A Delightful Act N dug in at the inside, and the pair would duel to three-quarters in 1:23.4. Entering the final turn, A Delightful Act N finally put away Adashious Hanover. Still, Blue Ivy was lurking in the pocket following a perfect trip. Turning for home, Grismore tried to pop out of the pocket but got caught in traffic trouble through the stretch. A Delightful Act N fended off all challengers late to win by three-quarters of a length in 1:53.3. Mystical Virgin closed late to be second, and Blue Ivy had to settle for third.

 A DELIGHTFUL ACT N REPLAY

Owned by Schillaci Stables, Sam Bova Racing, and John Manning, the 7-year-old mare, conditioned by Jodi Schillaci, pushed her career earnings to $368,028.

Live racing resumes on Monday (November 13) evening at 6:00 p.m. Monday’s program will honor the nation’s veterans with races named in honor of branches of the military and certificates provided to the winning connections.
