Cream Ridge, NJ -11/13/2023 – The Standardbred Retirement Foundation, (SRF) hosted a day of fun that touched hearts. The Newark, NJ; Philadelphia, Pa.; and the NJ State Police Mounted Units brought smiles and touching moments when they paraded their adopted Standardbreds from SRF.
The weather was beautiful, and the crowd enjoyed several opportunities dancing, dining from the food trucks, the gift auction, shopping, endless popcorn, roasting marshmallows, and engaging with SRF horses and the Police. Some folks were stuck to their roasted marshmallow sticks as they danced, others sat on bails of hay to relax and watch. The barn was popular while Think Rich and Keystone Lou engaged for hugs and treats! It was touching to see many of the horses SRF saved from slaughter stand so proudly. A few of the horses that joined the day in their dignified roles for the three Police departments were Allentown; Old Time Hockey; Chevals Clivesdale; Dontgetinhisway; and Shark Chaser.
The Millstone, NJ Elks presented their generous donation from the funds they raised from the recent golf outing they hosted for SRF, an important event every fall.
SRF appreciates the overwhelming support from its visitors and volunteers to show what this breed is all about and to raise funds to help feed the more than 500 trotters and pacers in need of a chance to shine again.
