Le Massif (Shanghai Phil, Steeven Genois) charged late to capture the $7,500 featured harness racing pace at Vernon Downs on Monday (September 2).
War Of Will (Leon Bailey) led to the quarter in :28.0.Ā He used a :29.2 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.2.Ā He continued to control things to three-quarters in 1:25.2.
As they made the turn for home Syracuse Express (John MacDonald) popped the pocket as Le Massif ($44.00) came three-wide.Ā Second place finisher Syracuse Express took a slight lead but Le Massif came flying by to win in 1:54.1.Ā War Of Will had to settle for third money.
Le Massif is a 5-year-old horse.Ā He is owned by Laurent Pednault and trainer Melanie Boulianne.Ā It was his fifth win in 2024.Ā He now has 13 career victories.

Solstice (Leon Bailey) won the Mini-Horse race.
