With a first-over power move from third place after the half mile, A Rocknroll Star (A Rocknroll Dance) and harness racing driver Jim Marohn, Jr. shot to the lead and never looked back in winning the $12,000 Preferred-Handicap Pace at Freehold Raceway Saturday, February 4.
The 10th race feature started off on the chilly afternoon with Three In Heaven A (Austin Siegelman) going right to the lead from post five with Rocks Noble Artist (Troy Beyer) sitting on their backs to the first quarter in :27.1.
With everyone racing in single file, Three In Heaven A led the field passed the half in :57.3. Then it was A Rocknroll Starās turn to shine as Marohn took him first-over and was just clearing to the lead at the three-quarters in 1:26 with Baron Michael (Eric Abbatiello) following second-over.
With a strong lead on the final turn, A RocknRoll Star and Marohn stretched it out in the stretch to win by two and one-quarter lengths in 1:53.3. Three In Heaven A held for second with Baron Michael third.
