Aaron Merriman scores nine winners Wednesday

It a feat most harness racing drivers never achieve as Aaron Merriman won 9 of the 15 races at MGM Northfield Park Wednesday (Dec. 7). And it’s not the first he has done it.

Merriman started out winning the first three races on the program with Domovoy (Triumphant Caviar, 1:56.4, $2.40), Kneedeep N Custard (Custard The Dragon, 1:53.2, $2.40) and Bright Expectation (Cantab Hall, 1:59, $6.20).

He then won the 5^th race with Backdoor Man (Bluto, 1:56.1, $3.40) and swept three more in the 7^th to 9^th races with Travelin De Lite (Long Tom, 2:02.4, $5.40), Billy Lincoln N (Bettor’s Delight, 1:57.2, $2.40) and Timeout Fritz (Fitzmagic, 1:57.3, $2.60).

Merriman capped the winning evening with victories in the 12^th race with Dudley (Long Tom, 1:58.4, $3.00) and the ninth win came in the 13^th race with Lovin On The Beach (Bring On The Beach, 1:57.1, $3.00).

Merriman is the perennial national dash winning champion in North America. It was just last year that he also won 9 of 15 races. He holds the Northfield Park record with 10 wins on one night back in 2019.
