Monticello, NY— The 3-5 favorite Ackles Hanover (Cantab Hall, Bruce Aldrich Jr) made his Monticello Raceway debut by winning the $4,900 harness racing trot on Monday afternoon (Nov. 6).
Out of the gate, Hillofa Knockout (Kyle Dibenedetto) took the early lead from the middle of the track. From the far outside, Ackles Hanover started to move to the front. As they reached the first quarter mile in :29.4, Ackles Hanover had the lead, with Hillofa Knockout in second and Supreme Class (Thomas Merton) racing in third. Ackles Hanover had the lead by a length as they passed the half mile in 1:00.3.
Ackles Hanover was holding on to the lead, with Hillofa Knockout following in second. Supreme Class and Al’s Spirit (Rick Harp) were in a battle for third as they passed the three-quarter mile mark in 1:30.1.
Ackles Hanover crossed the wire two lengths ahead of Hillofa Knockout in 2:00.1. Immaculate Prayer (Michael Merton) came in third.

Ackles Hanover is a 4-year-old gelding owned by Bruce Aldrich Jr and trained by Laura Aldrich. He paid $3.20 to win.
