WASHINGTON, PA, Sept. 7, 2024 — Act Fast (Downbytheseaside-Act Like A Diva) had to work for the lead in a contested opening panel, but he was untouchable thereafter as he captured Saturday’s $21,200 Open Handicap Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Wild Wild Western left inside the 1-1 favorite and stretched him out a bit before yielding to the pocket. But Act Fast was unperturbed, permitting no serious challenges while scoring for Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. in 1:50. Wild Wild Western saved place, beaten 1-1/2 lengths, with Liteningonthebeach third.

Ron Burke trains Act Fast, a 4-year-old gelding who now boasts a career bankroll of $557,774, for Burke Racing Stable, Knox Services, Rich Lombardo Racing LLC and Beasty LLC.
Aaron Merriman, Dave Palone and Wrenn each piloted four winners, leaving only one event on the 13-race card up for grabs. It was Mike Wilder who grabbed it.
