The Judges Reports to the US Trotting Association for last week show two more harness racing trainers, totaling eight horses, with positive testing for ADB Fubinaca or synthetic cannabis at Rosecroft Raceway in Maryland.
ADB-Fubinaca in simple terms is synthetic cannabinoids or cannabis. It is defined as new psychoactive substances (NPS) and are designer drugs with chemical structure similar to classical drug substances like cannabis.
Rosecroft trainer John Wagner had seven horses come up positive and Clyde Oglesby had one horse. Each trainer has been fined $2,500 and suspended from racing for one year. Both trainers have appealed the rulings.
At Rosecroft Raceway there has now been a total of 10 ADB Fubinaca positive tests and sources have revealed that there may be more forthcoming.
Of the 10 positive results reported so far, nine of the horses won their race and one finished second.
Sources have also revealed that there are as many as 15 horses positive for ADB Fubinaca among seven trainers in Delaware. Contact with the Delaware Harness Racing Commission have gone unanswered.
