HARNESS RACING ITM PODCAST TO FEATURE ADIOS

Wednesday night’s In The Money Harness Players’ Podcast (click here) will feature a roundtable discussion of this Saturday’s Delvin Miller Adios Pace for the Orchids.  Mike Pribozie will host the show, joined by Edison Hatter, Dawnelle Mock, Cheyenne Christman and Kevin Plowcha.  Meadows’ track announcer Jeff Zidek will also be a guest as the group talks about the $350,000 Adios Final.  Airtime is 8:00pm Eastern.

 GRAND CIRCUIT ACTION STARTS FRIDAY

Freshman trotters will be featured on the Friday evening card at The Meadows (5:10pm post) in Grand Circuit action.  Two divisions of the Ed Ryan Trot for 2YO fillies will be carded as races 2 and 4 on the evening program, each for a purse of $20,000.  Races 6, 8 and 10 will feature a total of 22 colts in the Robert Key Trot.  All eyes will be on Wapiti Blue Chip, who will leave from post 6 in the first division.  In his most recent start, the International Moni gelding set a new Meadows track record with a 1:54.2 performance.  Mahlon Martin trains, with Braxten Boyd slated to drive.

TOUGH ACT TO FOLLOW

The 2023 Adios Day card provided The Meadows with a new record handle, as more than $1.5 million was wagered on the 16-race program.  With good weather in the forecast and $200,000 in guaranteed pools on the line, the track is hopeful of another solid day.  “We were extremely happy with the wagering last year,” said Scott Lishia, Director of Racing.  “Players really responded to the guaranteed pools.  We’re hoping that this year’s increase in guarantees, from $170,000 to $200,000, will make the day even more attractive to harness players.”  Saturday’s first race post is set for 11:45am.
