Harness racing driver Johnathan Ahle had a sensational Tuesday night (April 9) at Rosecroft Raceway, winning seven times, half of the entire race card, and taking the lead in the Winter-Spring meet dash standings.
Trae Porter and Ahle started the night with 243 drives and Porter leading Ahle, 54-52.
Porter won the opener, the $10,000 Mares Open with Lloyd’s Loves, a recent claim for Christopher Devine and WIlliam MacMillan, for trainer Michael Hall.
The four-year-old mare has been marvelous this year, winning six times in ten starts, and finishing second three other times. The time of 1:51.1 was a new mark and in the process handed Grace Rocks her first defeat at Rosecroft in five starts.
LLOYD’S LOVES REPLAY
Ahle got going in race two with the talented newcomer to the Hall barn as Moonlight Miki won in 1:54 for Let It Ride Stables, Maurice Chodash and Barry Cohen.
By the end of the night, Hall had hooked up six winners and trainerĀ Brittany Bounds won three times. Driver Jonathan Roberts had a pair of wins on the Tuesday night card and driver Ronald Malone, competing in the only division of the Mid Atlantic Drivers Club won for the first time since August of 2013. Malone recently returned to the sulky on a limited basis having not driven in an overnight race since 2018.
