Ahundreddollarbill tops four NYSS divisions

Vernon Downs hosted two harness racing divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for 3-year-old trotting colts & geldings as well as two divisions for 3-year-old trotting fillies on Friday (June 4).

Ahundreddollarbill (Andrew McCarthy) holds off late charge by Incommunicado (Ake Svanstedt) to win the $56,000 first division of the NYSS for trotting colts and geldings.

Dewey Arnold (Jason Bartlett) jumped out to the early lead and led to the first quarter in :27.2.  Ahundreddollarbill ($3.30) made his move taking the lead going around the first turn.  He held the lead to the half in :56.0.  He continued to lead and hit three-quarters first in 1:24.4.

As they made the turn for home Incommunicado came first-over from third and came charging at Ahundreddollarbill.  Ahundreddollarbill dug in and held on to win in a lifetime best of 1:52.2.  He was just two-fifths off the track record for 3-year-old geldings.  Incommunicado had to settle for second.  Dewey Arnold finished third.

AHUNDREDDOLLARBILL REPLAY

Ahundreddollarbill is a 3-year-old gelding by Chapter Seven.  Trained by Tony Alagna for owners Crawford Farms Racing and James Crawford IV.  He is two for two in 2021.  He now owns four career wins.

Ambassador Hanover (Ake Svanstedt) coasts to a win in the $57,000 second division of the NYSS for trotting colts and geldings.

Balenciaga (Scott Zeron) led to the first quarter in :27.0.  Steel (Andy Miller) then took the lead but it was short lived as Credit Con (Wally Hennessey) took control and led to the half in :56.3.  Dee’s Red Delicous (Corey Callahan) came first over to gain the lead.  Ambassador Hanover ($7.20) used a second-over trip and went to the front taking them to three-quarters in 1:25.0.

As they reached the stretch the battle was now for second as Ambassador Hanover poured it on to win in a lifetime best of 1:53.0.  Balenciaga finished second as Latin Lover (Leon Bailey) got third.

AMBASSADOR HANOVER REPLAY

Ambassador Hanover is a 3-year-old colt by Chapter Seven.  Svanstedt is trainer and part owner with owners Order By Stable, Howard and Judith Taylor.  This was his first win this season and fifth lifetime.

Illuminata (Ake Svanstedt) took the lead to the first quarter in :27.1.  Soukup Blue Chip (Andy Miller) battled with Illuminata around the clubhouse turn.  Soukup Blue Chip cleared to the lead and led to the half in :56.1 and three-quarters in 1:25.4.

As they made to turn for home Moni For Lindy ($44.80) came flying down the stretch and won in a lifetime best of 1:53.4.  Darlene Hanover (Andrew McCarthy) made a late move to finish second.  Contested Hanover (Scott Zeron) finished third.

MONI FOR LINDY REPLAY

Moni For Lindy is a 3-year-old filly by Credit Winner.  She is owned by the Moni Maker Stable and trained by Domenico Cecere.  It was her first win this season and the third victory of her career.

Iteration (Brian Sears) slips by Sweeping Rainbow (David Miller) to take the $57,000 second division of the NYSS for trotting fillies.

Iteration ($4.00) led to the first quarter in :27.1.  Sweeping Rainbow then took command hitting the half first :57.0.  She maintained the lead and hit three-quarters first in 1:26.1.

As they reached the stretch Iteration jumped out of the pocket and dueled with Sweeping Rainbow all the way down the stretch.  Iteration gave one last lunge to get an exciting win in 1:54.0.  Sweeping Rainbow had to settle for second.  Aela Jamieson (Andy Miller) finished third.

ITERATION REPLAY

Iteration is 3-year-filly by Chapter Seven.  She is owned by Courant Inc. and trained by Marcus Melander.  She is one for one in 2021.  She now owns six career victories.
