Harness racing driver Bruce Aldrich Jr. doubled his weekly tally with a three-win Thursday afternoon at Monticello Raceway.
Aldrich scored his first two victories with his own horses – Noble Woody, a seven-year-old Woodstock gelding, and Blue Line, a nine-year-old gelded son of Stonebridge Regal.
Noble Woody led at every call and captured the second race in 1:59.2. It was his seventh win of the season in 25 tries and 13th lifetime from 155. He owns with Laura Perino, who trains the horse.
Aldrich and Perino also partner on Blue Line, who swept by leaders on the final turn and won the fourth in 1:56.4, his best clocking of the season. He is now six-for-22 this year and 38-for-196 lifetime.
Aldrich completed his triple aboard Bettorbeasecret, setting the mare up for her first victory of the year with a pocket trip. The four-year-old daughter of Bettors Delight set a time of 1:58 as she notched her fourth win in 33 career tries. Christopher Petrelli trains for David Del Pozzo of Methuen.
Racing returns to Monticello Raceway on Monday, Aug. 23 with an eight-race card featuring a Fillies and Mares Open Pace. The first race will go off at 12:10 p.m. EDT.
