Columbus, MN – The Monday night (July 5) harness racing program at Running Aces featured the $15,000 Ron Banks Memorial Trot which drew a talented field of seven starters.

All American N with driver Luke Plano left fastest of all from the gate from post seven to take command of the field, while Susie’s Sister (Brady Jenson) also left quickly from post six.

Jenson was unable to find a seat for Susie’s Sister and was forced to try for the lead, but All American N was not interested in yielding the front end, and the result was an all out battle that lasted for more than five-eighths of a mile and produced a quick (:56.4) opening half.

As the field rounded for home, All American N had turned back the challenge of Susie’s Sister but now faced a big challenge from Pridecrest (Mooney Svendsen) and those two battled to the finish wire with All American N holding gamely by a nose in 1:55.4.

Mandeville (Nick Roland) rallied for third and Bordogna (Rick Magee) was a close fourth.

ALL AMERICAN N REPLAY

It was the fourth win of the season for All American N ($5.60), owned by Jose Cervantes and trained by Edward Hernandez.

The $9,300 Open II Hcp Trot went to Luck Playmate who scored an impressive 1:56.2 career best victory by 2-1/4 lengths over Bringthegold (Luke Plano) and SB Madam Secretary (Tony Kerwood). Lucky Playmate ($11.20) is trained and driven by Rick Magee, for owner Cathy Dessert.

Coatofmanycolors (Nick Roland, $2.40) made it four wins in a row with another dominating performance on Monday night, taking the $7,100 sophomore Open Trot in 1:57.3 for a career mark. The daughter of Tymal Templar was never in doubt in the gate-to-wire score. The Royal Queen (Rick Magee) was a sharp second and Ice Titan (Mooney Svendsen) was home third. The winner is owned and trained by Jenni King.

Drivers Rick Magee and Jacob Cutting both scored doubles on the card, while Magee and Edward Hernandez each recorded training doubles.

Live Racing returns to Running Aces on Tuesday night (July 6) with first post at 6:05 pm (CDT) and will feature a Carryover of $30,113.77 in the Pick-5 Jackpot, which has a mandatory payout. The estimated total pool for the Tuesday Pick-5 is $100,000.
