Always B First (Always B Miki) wired the harness racing field in the Mares Invitational Pace at Bally’s Dover on Wednesday night. The race celebrated International Women’s Day.
Always B First left, settled then brushed for the lead reaching the quarter in 27 flat. Tetrick took advantage of the windy conditions and throttled the speed of Always B First. They reached the half in 55.4, a moderate 28.4 quarter.
Betting favorite Trick Of The Light moved 1st over down the backstretch. Incaseyoudidntknow followed 2nd over on the rim. Don’t Fence Me In completed the outer flow 3rd over.
In the stretch, Always B First started to get leg weary late, but held on to win by a head in 1:53. She paid $9.20 for the win.

Don’t Fence Me In was 2nd for trainer Tony Alagna. Scott Zeron drove.
