Upset mile in filly and mare pace

WASHINGTON, PA, Nov. 23, 2021 —Fifth by 3-1/2 lengths at the top of the stretch, Amelias Courage A unleashed a late kick that carried her to a 9-1 upset in Tuesday’s harness racing feature at Hollywood Casino at the Meadows, a $12,100 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace.

Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. piloted the 7-year-old daughter of Courage Under Fire-American Dreamer, whose career statistics now include 24 wins and $237,104 in earnings, for trainer Richard Perfido and owner Win Rhythm Stables.

Time for the mile was 1:53.2. Lady Newton was second, beaten 1/2 length, with Zoe Ellasen third.

AMELIAS COURAGE A REPLAY

Trainer Ron Burke collected five wins on the 13-race card while drivers Aaron Merriman and Wrenn each enjoyed a four-bagger.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Wednessday when the 13-race program features a $1,151.78 carryover in the final-race Super Hi-5. First post is 12:45 PM.
